Infology has been invited by the SA Law Commission to collate and submit user comments in response to Issue Paper 27 - Electronic Evidence in Criminal & Civil Matters. The issue paper may be downloaded here. Please direct any comments and suggestions you may have to info@infology.net on or before 29 June 2010 for inclusion in our collated submission to the Commission.

A new article published by research house Gartner draws attention to the fact that the judiciary is now leading calls for in-house advisors and IT professionals to work together with external litigation counsel to ensure adequate collection and review of electronically stored material. The full article emphasising how technology will play a key role in this process is available for purchase at the Gartner website.

The final report by Lord Jackson on the costs of civil litigation in England & Wales has been published.

Infology has announced the appointment of Timothy J. Maidment as Vice-President of Business Development with effect from 2 November.

Maidment will be based in New York and will oversee the development of client relations throughout the United States.

The preliminary report by Lord Jackson on the costs of civil litigation in England & Wales was published for comment on Friday, 8 May.

The final report, expected in December this year, will make proposals for the reform of civil procedure and of the costs rules in order to promote access to justice at proportionate cost.
