Jackson Report (Preliminary) Chapter 8 Controlling Costs

Jackson Report (Preliminary) Chapter 8 E-Disclosure Costs

The preliminary report by Lord Jackson on the costs of civil litigation was published for comment on Friday, 8 May. The final report, expected in December this year, will take readers’ comments into account and will make proposals for the reform of civil procedure and of the costs rules in order to promote access to justice at proportionate cost. Comments on E-Discovery and Controlling the Costs of Litigation (Chapter 8 of the report provided above) may be submitted to Infology for collation and forwarding to Lord Jackson in a specific e-discovery submission. Readers’ comments may be e-mailed to controllingcosts@infology.net. Requests for anonymity will be observed and commentators will be given a copy of the collated document submitted by Infology to the Royal Courts. Comments on all sections of the preliminary report may also be submitted directly to the Royal Courts of Justice at costs.review@judiciary.gsi.gov.uk.

A full copy of the 654 page report is available from the website of the Judiciary of England & Wales at http://www.judiciary.gov.uk/.
